Jewelry

I would create my designs from sheet metal, wire, and sometimes found objects. I quickly began adding semi-precious stones as a way to add color and then pearls to add a deeper sense of elegance. I would look to nature and also to architecture for inspiration.

I loved combining precious materials with found objects - things that seemed so incongruous at first glance. This allowed me to produce a design that was unique and also possessed integrity. I was proud to create collectable and one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art.

I began my metalsmithing career at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia in 1986. I spent two years learning the basics of jewelry making and I also worked in a gallery that showcased jewelry artists from all over the world - The VO Gallery.
